Muted Pastel Florals for an Elegant Tower Club Wedding
A stunning fall wedding bursting with beautiful muted pastel flowers, accented by a pop of deeper mauves and burgundies at Tower Club in Downtown Springfield, Missouri.

CEREMONY: NATIONAL AVE CHURCH
RECEPTION: TOWER CLUB
October weddings have a special kind of magic. With a ceremony at National Avenue Christian Church and a reception at the historic Tower Club, this elegant fall wedding blended delicate color, thoughtful design, and personal touches that reflected the coupleβs artistic spirit. Lush florals, statement centerpieces, and a joyful, laid-back atmosphere made this October celebration feel both timeless and incredibly meaningful.
One thing that made this wedding especially meaningful for us was the personal connection. The bride is the daughter of one of our longtime friends and trusted freelancers (someone who has helped us through countless set-up days), which made designing these wedding florals feel extra special. Add in the fact that the couple now lives in NYC and returned home to celebrate, and it really felt like a joyful homecoming.
The Vision
From the very beginning, the vision was clear: garden-style wedding flowers with a romantic, elegant aesthetic, infused with personality. The bride, a ballet dancer and performer, gravitated toward ballet pinks and muted pastels, with subtle nods to fall through deeper muted burgundy, maroon, and dark mauve tones.
We leaned into soft color transitions rather than bold contrast, creating a palette that felt colorful and elegant at the same time. Playful without overpowering. This approach allowed the florals to feel timeless and elevated while still reflecting the coupleβs artistic spirit. The result was a cohesive floral story that flowed from ceremony to reception. The whole day was stunningly captured by Asantae Photography.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place indoors at National Avenue Christian Church, a space with its own distinct personality with light blue walls and rich red carpet. To complement the existing color palette, we designed two large floral arrangements on pillars to frame the altar and create a focal point.
The ceremony florals featured a romantic mix of blue hydrangea, blush, lavender, and peach roses, along with peach stock, dusty rose carnations, and brown lisianthus for added depth. These arrangements helped visually anchor the altar while tying in beautifully with the bridal bouquet and wedding party flowers.
The Reception
The reception was held at the Tower Club in downtown Springfield. For many years, Tower Club was a members-only venue for dining, weddings, and meetings, sought after for its impressive views of the city. It has been closed in recent years, and this was the first time weβd stepped foot into it in decades (first time ever for Alex). It was such a treat to deck out into this grand, architectural space and lean into its brass details and vintage charm in all its 1980s glory.
Given the height and scale of the room, we prioritized large, statement floral designs. Florals were installed along the tops of the wide staircase entrances, immediately setting the tone for the evening. Guest tables featured three distinct centerpiece styles:
Tall arrangements in trumpet-style glass vases
Low, lush designs in footed gold bowls
Floral wreaths styled around lamps for a cozy, romantic glow
Taper candles, tea lights, white chair covers, and gold accents throughout the room tied everything together beautifully, enhancing the warm brass details already present in the space.
The mood of the evening was elegant yet playful β perfectly fitting for a couple who are both performers. A beautifully choreographed first dance, portraits taken in the theater they once performed in, and plenty of TikTok moments made the celebration feel joyful, relaxed, and completely them.
If thereβs one takeaway future couples can borrow from this wedding, itβs this: trust your instincts and embrace the colors, textures, and inspiration that feel most like you. When you do, the result is a celebration that feels authentic, beautiful, and unforgettable.
Elegant, playful, and romanticβ¦ this wedding is one we wonβt soon forget.
